What AudioHaven is
AudioHaven is an audiobook and podcast player that skips the content you choose while you listen. You pick what to skip, and the player jumps past those moments in real time. The original recording is never edited.
Every filter is reviewed by real people. A human reviewer confirms every filter against the actual audio before it reaches your library.
The app is on iPhone through the App Store. The Android app is in open testing on Google Play, so you can install it now, and the full release is coming soon.
Content filters
There are 9 filter categories: Profanity, Slur, Hate Speech, Blasphemy, Violence, Sexual Content, Romance, Crude Humor, and Substance Use. Each one has Mild, Moderate, and Severe levels that you turn on or off separately.
For the language categories (Profanity, Slur, and Blasphemy) you can go down to single words. You can also change the filters for one book without touching your defaults.
The Librarian
The Librarian is a reading assistant in its own tab. Ask it what to listen to next and it suggests books and podcasts, finds the next book in a series, and adds picks to your to-be-read (TBR) list when you ask. It is included with Premium and the free trial.
Books you already own
Link your Libro.fm, AudiobooksNow, or Downpour account to see the books you own and which ones can be filtered. You can also import any DRM-free M4B or MP3 audiobook from your device. When an import matches a book in our filter catalog, your filters apply to it.
If a book you own doesn't have filters yet, tap "Get filters" or "Upload for filtering" and we'll make them, with a person reviewing every one. Premium and Family include a filter credit each month for this.
Family plan
The Family plan covers up to 5 accounts in one household. Parents can add child accounts that only see books an adult has approved and that use filters an adult has locked.
Listening
AudioHaven has the player features you expect: playback speed, a sleep timer, offline downloads, and progress that syncs across your devices. In the car you can use CarPlay, Android Auto, or Car Mode.
Plans and pricing
The audiobook and podcast player is free. Filtering and the Librarian are part of Premium, which costs $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. Family costs $8.99 a month or $74.99 a year. Both start with a 14-day free trial.
